Our girls' Open football team played Pembroke on Friday afternoon in the Yunupingu Cup, hosted at Pembroke. While the scoreline didn't go our way, it did not reflect the effort and spirit shown by our girls. They never gave up—consistently pushing, tackling strongly, and producing some inspiring passages of play. I was particularly impressed by their attitude throughout the match and the way they supported one another. The sportsmanship displayed by both teams was commendable.
On Saturday morning, Reconciliation Week was celebrated with an Indigenous round against Pembroke. Our Reserves team starting the morning with a convincing win. After a welcome to Country, the Premier League hit the court. Four quarters of strong determined netball was played out and our girls came away with a fantastic win, earning them the Yunupingu Cup trophy. Lily (10NSHR) was presented with the player of the round medal to top off a great morning.
