On Saturday 23 May, five Concordia Pedal Prix teams competed in the six-hour race at Tailem Bend Raceway. Racing against 167 teams from across Australia, riders reached speeds of more than 50km/h. For many of our students, this was their first racing experience, creating a great sense of excitement and energy throughout our team area.
All teams competed strongly, maintaining consistent lap times throughout the day and demonstrating excellent organisation in the pits. Students worked collaboratively during rider changeovers and communicated effectively with riders out on the track to keep motivation high. A number of impressive lap times were recorded, highlighting the strong improvement many students have made since last year. With a clean and successful day of racing, valuable experience was gained across all teams ahead of the next round.
A highlight of the day was our Middle A team, Raptor, which led the field early and achieved an outstanding fourth-place finish in the Middle School category, backing up another strong result from Race 1 at Mount Gambier.
Thank you to all staff and parents for their continued support of the program in the many areas that help make race days run so smoothly. We look forward to competing again in Adelaide at the all-schools six-hour race on Sunday 21 June.
