Patch Theatre Visits St Peters Campus

4 June 2026

Recently, our St Peters Campus Reception students were treated to a wonderful incursion by Patch Theatre, experiencing the imaginative performance It's a String Thing.

Using nothing more than simple pieces of string, performer Ellen took the children on an exciting adventure in search of hidden treasure. Along the way, the string transformed into mountains to climb, forests to explore, tents for camping beneath a sky full of stars, and even gigantic holes to navigate. The children laughed as an army of ants devoured their picnic and enjoyed a playful stop at the river before continuing their journey.

The performance captivated the children's attention and demonstrated the incredible power of imagination. It showed how everyday objects can be transformed into anything we can dream up, inspiring creativity, storytelling and play.

Back in the classroom, the children enthusiastically recalled the many places they visited and the different ways the string was used throughout the adventure. The incursion was a fantastic opportunity to spark curiosity and encourage imaginative thinking, providing inspiration for our own storytelling and creative play experiences.
